Transit Master Plan Public Meeting Jan. 22
*ASHEVILLE TRANSIT WILL CONDUCT A PUBLIC FORUM about its Transit Master Plan on Thurs., Jan. 22, 2009 | The public meeting will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. in the banquet hall of the Asheville Civic Center in Downtown Asheville. The forum will be an open house format; no formal presentation, simply questions and answers. Citizens will be able to speak with the consultants, ask questions of staff, and see preliminary data. The meeting is designed to help determine what kind of public transit system the community wants. Interim transit manager Mariate Echeverry said, “The public’s input will help craft a transit plan that will be responsive to the city’s needs, and suggest sustainable transportation options.” In 2008 the City of Asheville hired Nebraska-based consulting firm HDR to perform a scientific analysis of the Asheville transit system and create a comprehensive Transit Master Plan. | For meeting details, Click Here | To take an online survey focused on system improvements, Click Here
